  • What is Masterpass?

    Masterpass is a digital wallet service that makes shopping online simple, convenient and safe for your clients. Masterpass stores all your collection information in a central and secure location. With Masterpass, your clients can buy, click and order online faster.

  • How does my client use Masterpass to buy something online or in an app?

    Once your client has completed its online shopping cart and is ready to finalize the purchase, he/she clicks or tapes the "Buy with Masterpass" button and selects his/her connected Masterpass wallet. The connection can be made on the purchase page or it can be redirected to Ecobank to complete the connection process. Once connected, he/she can choose the type of card and the address from the lists of payment cards and shipping addresses memorized. If your client wants to use a card or delivery address that has not yet been added, simply click or tap Add. Once the card and delivery address are chosen, the client can check his order before finalizing it.

  • How do my client use a Masterpass Android™ app to buy something in my store location?

    To make in-store payments, the client needs an Android™ phone running Kit Kat (4.4) or higher with support for NFC (Near Field Communication) and HCE (Host Card Emulation). Once he/she has a Masterpass app, there are 2 ways to Tap & Pay in-store as described in the next question/answer.

  • How do my client make payments with Ecobank Masterpass QR?

    Users of smart phones. The client performs the following steps:

    1. Open the Ecobank Mobile Banking application on your smartphone
    2. Selects Masterpass QR and scans the Quick Response code displayed at the checkout or on a merchant's website
    3. Between the price of the item purchased
    4. Put the m-PIN and an instant confirmation on your mobile will be displayed. Functional phone users Your client just have to dial *XXX# (depending on the country) and follow the instructions to pay. Contact your agency for the number to dial.

  • Is Masterpass safe to use?

    Absolutely. Our priority is to ensure the security of your personal needs, our servers and our spirit. Tip: You can also request an additional level of security by activating Mobile Check in your Settings. When purchasing online, after selecting the card and shipping address, a four-digit verification code is sent to the client's mobile phone. This one-time verification code allows you to complete the purchase.

  • Are there any additional fees when using the Masterpass service?

    There are no additional fees or charges to use Masterpass. If you receive notifications about your account by text message, you may incur standard messaging fees from your mobile phone carrier.

  • Why do I have to receive a code when I already have an account?

    If this is your first time checking out with your wallet on this browser, you may need to simply have to sign in and authenticate via a onetime code that will be sent to your phone or email.
